Puppy Clicker Training

Clicker training is not only a great way of bonding with your puppy it will also help your puppy to build confidence. All dogs love attention, but puppies in particular seek a lot of attention.

Clicker training will give you plenty of opportunity to give your puppy positive attention for desired (good) behaviours, and rewards, instead of negative attention for undesired (bad) behaviours, and no rewards. This is very important as your puppy is a keen observer and will always be taking note of how you react, and by giving negative attention you will inadvertently be training undesired behaviours.

I offer one-2-one personal in-home puppy clicker training instruction. I will take you through the fundamentals of clicker training and how you can apply it to your training to get the best results. Your puppy will learn basic obedience as well as appropriate social skills.

Training is carried out at your home and your local environment, local environment training is very important as it gives you knowledge and confidence to handle real life situations.

My style of clicker training instruction is to keep it simple for you but effective, my aim is to give you the necessary tools and guide you in how to use them.

For each new behaviour being trained I will first demonstrate by example, but I will quickly hand over to you and take a back seat. My job is then to observe you clicker training your puppy and if needed prompt you, and where necessary step in with a helping hand.  At the same time I will make you aware of what is happening and why it is happening.

At a certain point both you and your puppy will have an ‘aha’ moment, you’ll know when this is but I will still point it out. This is when the fun really begins and you and your puppy start working together as a team.

From hereon your puppy will learn new behaviours, quickly, easily, and with enthusiasm.
